Managed by Operations: 864-944-1268
Only household garbage will be picked up through the garbage service. Garbage must be bagged, tied, and placed at the end of the driveway by 9:00 a.m. on the scheduled pick-up days. Note: These services must be arranged by your property owner.

The pick-up days are as follows:
Southside: Tuesday and Friday
Northside: Monday and Thursday

  •  Garbage cans are suggested but not mandatory. All household trash must be placed in a garbage bag and tied before it is put in your waste receptacle. This helps our staff as they take the material out of the waste can. If the trash bag is not tied, then they will not be able to pick up the household waste. Please help us to make sure that all waste is bagged and stored properly.
  • The Garbage Service does not collect recycling. There is an area on Maintenance Road for this.
  • The Garbage Service does not pick up yard debris (for example: leaves, brush, and tree limbs). This requires a special pick up. Call the Operations Department for more information.
  • The Garbage Service does not pick up building materials. Call the Operations Department for more information.
  • The Garbage Service does not pick up any kind of packing material. This includes cardboard boxes. Call the Operations Department for more information.
  • The Garbage Service runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There are multiple employees that run the Garbage Service route, therefore pick-up times may vary. For this reason, the Operations Department ask that everyone on the Garbage Service route have their garbage out at 9:00 a.m. to ensure that no one is missed.
  • If you notice that the garbage has not been picked up by 3:30 p.m. on the scheduled pick-up day, then please call the Operations Department.

The closest Oconee County Recycling and Convenience Center can be found at, #4 Salem Recycling Center, 397 Stamp Creek Rd, Salem, SC 29676.

Keowee Key is known as a neighborhood of folks with high integrity, great values and a heart for service. Rarely do we experience inappropriate behaviors on the part of our Members. However, when that situation occurs the KKPOA Board of Directors must act to protect the interests of the entire community. It is important that all Members are aware of the actions that are prohibited and the potential consequences. Disciplinary action can range from a reprimand to an extended suspension of privileges. Your Board takes this responsibility seriously and will enforce this policy on your behalf. Stated below are the behaviors for which the Board may take formal disciplinary action against a Member if it is determined that the Member or their guest:

  5. Harassed KKPOA personnel or Members, including stalking, abusive or defamatory language (whether in person or via other communication media), or threatening behavior. If it has been reported that a Member may have, or in fact did, violate any of the above restrictive actions then the following will apply:

  1. The Board of Directors will review all instances that require formal disciplinary action, up to and including suspension of privileges as detailed in the Bylaws.
  2. While the Board of Directors considers the complaint, the Member will enjoy all membership privileges to which they are entitled prior to the complaint.
